A Milwaukee man and woman were arrested after allegedly stealing a car from a Kwik Trip parking lot.
According to police reports, the vehicle was stolen at approximately 3:00 a.m. at the S. 42nd Street location after the owner left it running.
The victim watched the pair drive off while exiting the store, to which they notified the Police Department.
When authorities arrived, a Kwik Trip patron shared that the two subjects had asked them for a ride to Milwaukee.
The suspect vehicle was found traveling southbound on I-43 towards Milwaukee where officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
In the car, officers found a glass cylindrical smoking device that tested positive for cocaine.
The 50-year-old male is being charged with Operating a Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent as a Driver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The 48-year-old woman passenger is being charged with Operating Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent as a Passenger.
