Manitowoc Legion Post 88’s bid for a back to back state championship came up short in Marinette over the weekend.
Coach Kevin Stangel’s team dropped a 4-nothing decision to Sheboygan in an elimination game Friday night at the Wisconsin Triple-A State Tournament.
Post 88 wrapped up the summer baseball schedule with an overall record of 20 wins and 10 losses.
Janesville and Eau Claire finished one-two at state and both teams now advance to the Midwest Regional Tournament.
