After a multi-year COVID hiatus, the Manitowoc International Relations Association and Kamogawa International Relations Association were able to resume the Annual Summer Exchange Program this summer.
Six Manitowoc area high school students spent 10 days experiencing the exchange program in Kamogawa Japan.
Students were able to stay with a local Japanese family, visit cultural sites and beautiful natural areas, and even learned how to make soba noodles.
On July 30th, the students returned to Manitowoc with their counterparts from Kamogawa.
While in Manitowoc the students from Kamogawa will have an immersive experience while staying in the homes of the 6 students who traveled to Japan.
This year’s exchange program is extra special, not only because it is the first exchange after the COVID hiatus, but because it marks the 30th anniversary of the sister city friendship between Manitowoc and Kamogawa Japan.
