Hi! I’m Ariane Gunderson, owner of Waves Yoga Studio here in Downtown Manitowoc. I found yoga when I was struggling with an eating disorder during my teenage years. The transformation that ensued in my life was extraordinary. Not only did it help me recover from my eating disorder, it helped me avoid relapsing all these years later.
My approach to yoga is very realistic and grounded. I believe anyone can practice yoga and reap its benefits. Yoga can be an entire lifestyle change, but it can also be a beautiful addition to your weekly wellness schedule that helps you reduce stress levels, stay fit and flexible, lose weight, be in the present moment, and take a break from your phone.

Our Candlelight Yoga Class at Manitowoc Public Library—which will be taking place on Thursday, August 17, from 6-7 PM in the Balkansky Community Room—will be an introduction to yoga. We will learn basic yoga poses that you will see in almost every class, yogic breathing techniques, and end with a guided relaxation. You will leave feeling relaxed, joyful, and connected to yourself. No prior yoga experience is necessary for you to be a part of this session.
