The Manitowoc Bandits are making a habit of reaching the Shoreland League Championship Series.
Coach Chris Cisler’s team earned its 9th consecutive appearance in the finals after finishing a 2-game sweep of Casco in the semifinal series with a 12-5 victory over the A’s Friday night.
Brandon Black pounded a 3-run homer while Earl Vorpagel went 4-for-6 and Reese Berg added 3 hits to lead the offensive attack in the completion of a suspended game on Wednesday.
Winning pitcher Jacob Gallagher tossed 4 scoreless innings after the A’s had tied it at 5-apiece in the 3rd.
Earl Vorpagel got the save with two strong innings that included 4 strikeouts.
The Bandits now travel to Denmark tonight to meet the Devilbears in Game-1 of a best of 3 series with the first pitch at Highridge Field set for 7:30.
Games 2 and 3 on Wednesday and Thursday (if necessary) are scheduled for Manitowoc’s Municipal Field.
