The City of Kiel was once again the target of a bomb threat, this time in the City Park.
According to Police Chief Joseph Jeanty, the Kiel Police Department was informed of a bomb threat to Kiel City Park at 10:59 p.m. Saturday.
The park was quickly evacuated out of an abundance of caution and a search was conducted.
Police Officers and Fire Department personnel conducted the initial search, and a follow-up search was done by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department’s bomb-sniffing K9.
No suspicious items were located, and the park was reopened.
The Police Department is continuing their investigation and no additional information is being released at this time.
This threat comes just over a year after a series of five bomb threats in the city, in which no suspect has been announced to have been arrested.
