In the United States, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, a leading cause of death in the country.
This year, the Alzheimer Association is inviting Manitowoc County to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 9th at the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA.
The event opens at 8:30 a.m. with the Walk scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
It will begin with a poignant Promise Garden ceremony where the participants will hold a colored flower to represent their connection to the cause.
Once it concludes, attendees are welcome to go to the Wharf for a post-walk party where 15% of all beverage sales will work to benefit the walk.
The community can register by visiting ACT.ALZ.org.
