An Outagamie County man has been sentenced in a child porn case.
24-year-old Colton Nelson pleaded guilty to his charges back in May and was ordered to spend five years in prison.
The investigation into Nelson began just shy of a year ago when he began using an online platform to share videos and images of children being sexually abused.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office reported finding more than 7,000 videos and images of child pornography during a search at his home, leading to his arrest.
On top of the prison sentence, Nelson has been ordered to spend five years on extended supervision upon his release, register as a sex offender, and pay $5,000 in fines.
