The Manitowoc Police Department is working on completing its budget needs for the next year.
While on WOMT’s Be My Guest, Amber Noworatzky, the Administrative Assistant for the MPD, explained to Seehafer News that the budget funds everything “From labor to squad car purchases to the different equipment that the department needs to any type of software. We go through, line by line, and figure out what we are going to need for the following year.”
The Manitowoc Police Department employs about 90 people which need to be considered for the budget from full-time employees, support staff, crossing guards, and part-time, and seasonal workers.
Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer noted that they are “Trying to make sure, of course, that everybody gets paid, but also that we have the needed equipment for the officers so that we can do our job and provide public safety.”
The budget was due to be completed and turned in by the end of this week.
