The Manitowoc Police Department has been seeing a rise in thefts from boats and marinas.
Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer explains that thieves have been taking electronic equipment, like fish finders.
While on WOMT’s Be My Guest program, Reimer offered a recommendation to boat owners.
“We’re asking that people, especially towards the end of the season, that you pull all of that stuff out of your boat, put it in a secure area, and then put it back in next season,” the police chief said. “If you can’t do that, try to lock everything up as well as you can, hide it, whatever needs to be done. We are working several active investigations to find who has been responsible.”
