The local and area High School football schedule features two Michigan teams.
Manitowoc Lincoln is welcoming Mona Shores to Rubick Field for game two of their Battle for the Badger series.
The teams met each other last night as they held a joint team meal at the Inn on Maritime Bay which Lincoln Coach Greg Enz said was a great experience.
“I wanted this to be something that was really going to be meaningful,” Coach Enz told Seehafer News. “These are kids. These are our coaches getting a chance to talk to their coaches. A relaxed atmosphere. The opportunity to see each other truly at the root of who we are.”
Mona Shores Head Coach Matt Koziak called the experience once in a lifetime for his players.
“I get to see these kids mingling out here, because obviously a lot bigger than the game of football,” he said. “Yes, we have to play a game tomorrow and yes our kids are going to play extremely hard and so are theirs, but this is super cool. To see the quite before the storm.”
Also making the trip to eastern Wisconsin is Kingsford Michigan, who will be taking on Green Bay East.
Other area games on the schedule include Two Rivers hosting Amherst, Manitowoc Lutheran invading Mishicot, Valders at Howards Grove, Kiel and Sheboygan Falls, Hilbert at home against Randolph, and Chilton on the road to battle Winnebago Lutheran.
