Two employees of Waukesha County jail are facing potential charges in connection with the drug overdose fatality of an inmate in January.
The district attorney’s office recently pressed charges against Deborah Link, a nurse at the jail, and Lieutenant Johanna Grace.
The charges allege that they did not take sufficient action after Randy Glenn Junior ingested cocaine while incarcerated.
Both Link and Grace interacted with Glenn; they discovered bags of drugs on his person, but Glenn assured them he was alright and denied swallowing any illicit substances.
The sheriff of Waukesha County emphasized their commitment to addressing the charges seriously.
However, the sheriff also issued a statement suggesting that Glenn bears responsibility for his own demise, having not only consumed the drugs but also misled the jail staff regarding his medical condition.
