Manitowoc’s Bank First will be hosting a free Shred Event, where Confidential Records, an AAA-certified shredding company, will provide a mobile shredding unit that citizens can use to destroy personal and confidential documents.
It will take place on Saturday, September 16th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at 2915 Custer Street.
It will be free and open to the public, but participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation in exchange for each bag of personal documents shredded.
The food donations will go to local food pantries.
All types of documents will be accepted, including tax returns, bank and credit card statements, medical records, and more.
Bank First is proud to offer residents this opportunity with the risk of identity theft and fraud becoming more common in today’s world.
Bank First requests that businesses do not participate in this event to ensure enough shredding space for the public.
The event will be held rain or shine.
