A Manitowoc man has been charged with felony possession of THC.
Manitowoc Police were called to Westfield Park on Wollmer Street Saturday because of a report of someone lying on the ground face down.
When police tried to talk to the person lying on the ground, the man said he wasn’t supposed to have contact with the police and wanted to leave.
The officer asked the man to stay while they checked him for warrants.
The man was later arrested after he allegedly said he had “street weed” on him. He was taken to police headquarters and was questioned about the THC which he allegedly claimed was legal to have because it was Delta-8 and he bought it at a store.
Police say they tested a leafy green substance in a pill bottle found in the man’s backpack and it tested positive for THC.
Police say they also found a multi-colored smoking device.
