A resort near the northern tip of the Door County peninsula was severely damaged in a fire yesterday.
The Door County Sheriff’s Office reports that fire crews were sent to Rowley’s Bay Resort, located at 1041 County Road ZZ in Ellison Bay at around 12:30 p.m.
Fire teams from throughout Door, Kewaunee, and Brown Counties arrived on the scene and began attacking the building-wide fire.
County Road ZZ was still closed off to traffic as of the latest update at 7:45 last night, and the Sister Bay Fire Department was on the scene monitoring the rubble throughout the evening.
The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but the Resort did say on its Facebook page that all staff has been accounted for.
They also noted that arrangements are being made for any incoming guests.
