Bookworm Gardens is one of the three national partners of the Little Free Library’s first-ever Read in Color cohort program, aimed to distribute books with topics surrounding racism, social justice, and people from all backgrounds.
The goal is to provide perspectives on all experiences and identities for readers. On Saturday, September 9th, admission to Bookworm Gardens, located at 1415 Campus Drive in Sheboygan, will be free from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Guests will enjoy a day full of story times in English and Spanish, food from local BIPOC & LGBTQ+ owned food trucks, and the chance for a complimentary book.
There will also be a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m.
Bookworm Gardens is also placing ten book-sharing boxes throughout the community with support from local partners that will be filled with culturally diverse books.
The Little Free Libraries are open to anyone in the community, as well as the event at Bookworm Gardens.
All ages are welcome at no cost. For more information, visit BookwormGardens.org.
