The Two Rivers City Council could be looking at another way to notify residents about dangerous swimming conditions on Lake Michigan in real-time during budget discussions.
While on WOMT’s Be My Guest Program, City Manager Greg Buckley said the city has put up some signs to remind people to check the National Weather Service in case there is something like a beach hazard statement.
He did note the death of a young swimmer last month, and noted “People need to be very mindful.”
Otherwise, Buckley says while it was a great summer at the beach, people do need to be more respectful about cleaning up after themselves.
