The ManitoWALK to End Alzheimer’s is once again being hailed as a major success.
This year’s walk was held at the Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA, where more than $40,000 was raised to fund Alzheimer’s research and local services in Manitowoc and surrounding areas.
Some of the services the cash will go toward funding includes support groups, education, information and referral services, care and support, advocacy efforts and a 24/7 Helpline, which is 800-272-3900.
David Grams, Executive Director, of the Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter said of the news, “The Walk to End Alzheimer’s plays a critical role in helping us advance our cause and provides hope of a future with additional treatments for all those who are impacted.”
Donations can still be made to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s through December 31 at ACT.ALZ.org/Manitowoc.
