Wisconsin lawmakers are set to cast their votes on fresh regulations targeting DoorDash and Uber Eats.
The Assembly Committee on State Affairs is expected to give its approval to these new rules, which include provisions allowing restaurants to opt out of third-party delivery services.
Additionally, the regulations would introduce certain requirements for delivery drivers.
The impetus for this change is the advocacy of Culver’s, a prominent restaurant chain.
Culver’s contends that it has been inundated with customer calls and complaints regarding orders placed through delivery apps, such as those provided by DoorDash and Uber Eats.
However, the company has been unable to address these concerns as it plays no role in the delivery process.
