The Milwaukee County Zoo is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved inhabitants.
On Wednesday, the zoo announced the passing of Oliver, its silverback gorilla.
Oliver, who reached the age of 34, considered old for a gorilla, had been grappling with health issues for an extended period.
Oliver’s health took a turn for the worse while undergoing medical treatment, leading to his passing.
Oliver’s departure marks the eighth loss of an animal at the Milwaukee County Zoo within the last ten months, underscoring the challenges faced by the zookeepers and staff as they work diligently to care for their diverse animal population.
