The city of Manitowoc has announced that the annual leaf pickup parking ban will begin on October 2nd.
The ban prohibits vehicles from parking on the street from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on leaf pick up day. The parking ban will go until November 17th.
Until then, on streets with a parking lane, leaves must be placed in the parking lane in front of your residence to be picked up.
Leaves that are placed on the terrace on streets with a parking lane will not be collected.
On streets without a parking lane, leaves should be placed on the terrace which is the grassy area between the sidewalk and the curb.
Vehicles parked in the parking lane between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. will be ticketed.
It is asked that leaves are placed away from any trees, light poles, mailboxes, or any obstacles that would make it difficult for quick collection.
There will be informational flyers placed on vehicles explaining the rules on the parking ban, they will be distributed from September 25th until September 29th.
