For the past couple of days, we have been reporting on the recent arrest of Health Grebe, the man who allegedly attempted to meet a 13-year-old girl at Manitowoc’s Lincoln Park.
A major reason he was caught was the organization known as Bikers Against Predators, who posed as the young girl online and met Grebe at the park.
Before he left town to address another case, the President of BAP spoke with Seehafer News about his organization.
He chose to keep his real name concealed, but he goes by Boots.
“We started back in 2021,” he explained. “My daughter was a victim to a male online and it sparked our interest in catching online child predators.”
As for how they go about catching these predators Boots explained that they don’t take tips, but rather let the suspects incriminate themselves. He noted that they simply create accounts on messaging apps and let the predators come to them, start the conversation, turn it inappropriate, and suggest a meet-up. Also, many people think that child predators are a certain type of person. That is not always the case.
“It’s not always the same type of individuals we catch,” he says. “Some of these guys are also very prestigious. We’ve caught teachers, we’ve caught doctors and police officers. At the other end of that we do catch registered sex offenders. We had an individual out of Ohio come to Indiana to meet with our decoy after cutting his ankle bracelet off. He was sentenced two weeks later for a real victim.”
Boots tells us that Heath Grebe is the catch number 245 for the group, and photos and live streams of many of their catches can be found on their Facebook page.
