The Manitowoc County Historical Society is starting its 11th season of their program Hungry for History.
Each program starts with a local history topic program with a meal after. For the first program, Manitowoc will team up with the Sheboygan County Historical Society for a lesson on The Chordettes, who are famous for writing the song “Mr. Sandman.”
The historical society says the group was formed in Sheboygan in the mid 1940’s.
The program is Thursday, October 19th starting at 11am.
The second program is about the USS Lagarto, which was built in Manitowoc by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company and was lost in an attack in the Gulf of Thailand.
That program is set for November 16th.
