Six restaurants are participating in the third annual Curd Crawl benefiting the Manitowoc County United Way.
The crawl starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th at the Fat Seagull on Quay Street.
Executive Director Ashlie Bender says people can purchase wristbands for the event ahead of time which costs $10.
On the day of the event, they will cost $15. Both options come with five raffle tickets.
Bender says people will be able to try different cheese curds at The Fat Seagull, Brix, The Wharf, Pizza Garden, Waterfront Wine Bar, and Wrap it Up.
Eventgoers will get the chance to pick their favorites as well.
“We have a rating sheet to keep track of what you like and didn’t like,” she explained. “And then you scan a QR Code and vote on your favorite curd. We look at the totals at the end of the night and then we award a cheese curd champion this amazing trophy that we have.”
There are some new things happening this year. The United Way is selling t-shirts for the crawl.
There will also be an afterparty at the Fat Seagull beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Participants also get the chance to enter to win raffle prizes at each restaurant.
Bender recommends not eating too much because there are a lot of cheese curds to try.
The money raised goes toward the United Way’s Community Action Fund, which is where the organization decides which projects to fund.
