21 years ago, today (October 11th), a 50-car pile-up stopped traffic on Interstate 43 near Cedar Grove.
Many of the victims never saw the crash scene because of the dense fog and plowed into the wreckage at highway speeds.
Ten people died and 39 others were injured.
We reached out to one person who tried to save some people after the pileup, but he did not want to be interviewed.
A memorial now stands near the site of the crash.
Eleven names are featured on the monument and another person died from another nearby accident on the same day.
