Some jobs, including law enforcement, are dealing with a shortage of people who want to work in the field.
But Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig says right now the sheriff’s department is fully staffed.
He says the department is allotted 113 full-time employees and right now 113 full-time employees are working.
But that doesn’t mean it can’t change.
Hartwig says there will be retirements and promotions happening next year so the department will be hiring some new faces in the future.
He also says there is also enough staff in the Manitowoc County Jail.
He says at one point last year, sheriff’s deputies had to work shifts in the jail because the county was down 10 corrections officers.
