Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Travis Aleff has been picked as the First Responder of the Year in the Wisconsin 25th Assembly District.
A Facebook post from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says Aleff has been employed as a deputy sheriff for the last nine years working in the patrol division.
He was promoted to lieutenant in 2020 and was instrumental in creating the sheriff’s department’s drone program last year.
Hartwig continued saying Aleff has made a difference in our community, especially in his volunteer work with youth including creating the program “Cops and Bobbers”, which connects children from difficult family situations and provides them with a positive experience through fishing.
He will be recognized during the Wisconsin Hometown Hero Awards at the Wisconsin State Capitol on October 17th.
