An Oconto woman accused of abusing a child and assaulting an officer has been ordered to undergo a competency exam.
33-year-old Shannon Tourtillott is facing a litany of charges including 1st Degree Reckless Injury, 1st and 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Child Abuse – Recklessly Causing Great Bodily Harm, Neglecting a Child, Attempted Strangulation, Battery or Threat to Law Enforcement, and four counts of Bail Jumping just to name a few.
Officers were sent to a Green Bay hospital back in May on a report of a 4-year-old girl with injuries consistent with abuse.
Tourtillott was determined to have caused those injuries.
While she was being taken to a hospital by a police officer, Tourtillott, who was pregnant at the time, reportedly attacked the officer, causing multiple bruises and injuries.
She then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
Her bond is set at $75,000 cash, and she is due back in court on December 14th to review the results of the competency exam, which was requested by Tourtillott’s attorney.
