The Roncalli Catholic Schools International Food Fair is returning in November.
The fair gives people ages 21 and older to try out different foods from around the world and raise money for the school district.
Director of Advancement Candice Giesen says this year’s cuisines include, Asian, Mexican, French, Italian, Polish, German, Jamaican, Southern, and Americana.
The Jamaican and Southern foods will be served out of food trucks outside the gym where the event takes place which is new this year.
Giesen tells us this year, “Personally, I’m trying to (raise) $100,000…We are not too far off from that.”
Giesen also noted that the program has grown each year, thanks in part to their generous sponsors.
She says if there are any other questions about the food served, the school will give out catalogs starting on October 20th.
“We give them to all of our school families as well as area businesses or people who have donated to the event,” she explained. “What’s nice about that is many people then start to look to see what they want to try.”
The menu is also changed every year to keep it interesting, at least most of it is. Giesen joked that “we have people that would be really upset if we took away the German food.”
The event is free and open to the public on Saturday, November 4th starting at 5:00 p.m.
You can pay for a punch card to sample food, or you can pay with a cash, check, or card.
This year’s oral auction items include sports memorabilia like a Jordon Love signed Green Bay Packer helmet and other experiences.
$100 Tickets for a cash raffle are available for purchase right now.
Only 500 will be sold for your chance to win a grand prize of $7,500.
Art created by Roncalli students will also be auctioned at the end of the night.
