The City of Manitowoc will begin the process of winterizing and closing park restrooms on Monday October 23rd.
Meanwhile, the process of winterizing drinking fountains began earlier this week.
All restrooms are expected to be closed by October 31st except for those at Halverson, Manitou and Lighthouse Parks, Lincoln Park Zoo, Lincoln Park Cabin #1 public restroom and Silver Creek Field House public restrooms.
They will stay open due to recreational activities in those parks.
Director of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski adds that a portable toilet will be available for use at Upper Schuette Park until the water is turned back on in the spring due to no furnace being available in the restroom building.
