Two Green Bay elementary schools will be closed starting next school year.
During a Green Bay Area Public Schools Board of Education meeting on Monday, the Board voted in favor of a plan to close Tank and Keller Elementary Schools as the district looks to save some money.
The students that would be attending Tank will instead report to Lincoln Elementary, and the students at Keller will go to Kennedy Elementary as a part of this new plan, which only had one vote against it.
This decision means that a total of three elementary schools in Green Bay will be shuttered at the start of next school year, as the board voted in favor of closing Wequiock Elementary back in August.
Those students will be attending Red Smith Community School instead.
These changes are expected to save the district an estimated $1.7 million.
