Manitowoc Lincoln will be playing for a berth in the WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament.
The #1 seeded Ships dispatched Oshkosh West in 3 sets: 25-20, 25-14, and 25-23 in last night’s Division-1 Sectional semifinals at Sheboygan South.
Those leading the way for Coach Mary Beth Dixon’s squad included Maddie York with 19-Kills, Laurin Hamann and Grace Fruzen each had 17 Digs, Fruzen again led in Assists with 28, freshman Abby Weidmayer contributed 4 Aces and Nena Swoboda led the team in Blocks with 3.
In the other semifinal at South High School, the 2-seed Sussex Hamilton also swept Cedarburg 25-21, 25-9, and 25-17.
The Ships and Chargers face off in the Sectional title match at Neenah tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m.
In the Division-3 Sectional semifinals at Howards Grove, the host Tigers defeated Manitowoc Lutheran 25-18, 25-17, and 25-16, ending the Lancers season.
Howards Grove now meets Lake Country Lutheran (of Hartland) tomorrow night in the finals at Oostburg.
The Tigers have won four consecutive state championships.
