A good number of runners from the lakeshore area will be competing today at the WIAA State Cross Country meet hosted by The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
In Division-1: Manitowoc Lincoln has 3 qualifiers in senior Caleb Jatczak and freshmen Natalie Portmann and Kendall Schmitz.
In Division-2: Kiel qualified both its boys and girls teams by winning Sectional team titles while Two Rivers is represented by Eli Gallagher and Carson Kadow for the boys and Ashley Groothoff for the Raider girls.
Also competing from the area is Brillion’s Lucas Mathes.
State Division-3 competitors at Rapids today include Hunter Taddy of Reedsville along with the girls trio of Roncalli’s Libby Schmidt, Hannah Welch from Valders, and Kohler freshman Maggie Behler.
Races begin at noon on the 5K course in Wisconsin Rapids.
