Manitowoc Lincoln’s outstanding Girls Volleyball season came to an end Saturday night in Neenah where the Ships dropped a 5-set battle to Sussex Hamilton.
The loss to the Chargers came in the WIAA Division-1 Sectional title match: 25-20, 16-25, 22-25, 25-20 and 12-15.
Lincoln winds up 31-and-9 following a 4th consecutive FRCC crown and a Regional championship in its possession.
In the Division-3 bracket, Howards Grove captured the Sectional title with a 4-set victory over fellow 1-seed Lake Country Lutheran.
The Tigers drew the #1 seed as well in the State Tournament and will oppose 4-seed St. Mary Catholic in the state semifinals at the Resch Center Friday afternoon.
Howards Grove has won the last four D-3 state championships.
