Hours are changing at the Manitowoc County Recycling Center.
Operations Manager Jon Reisenbuechler says the Recycling Center Main Office will be closed on Saturdays, starting November 4th, and will remain closed until Saturday, April 6th, 2024.
On November 16th, the Basswood Road site will open and close at a different time.
The new hours will be from Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 to noon.
However, the compost site on Woodland Road will be closed until April 2024.
The compost sites are still closed on Sundays and holidays.
Reisenbuechler reminds residents that items including treated and untreated lumber, logs and stumps, rocks, or trash are not allowed in the compost sites.
If you bring an that’s now allowed the county will consider it illegal dumping and you will be fined.
It’s also important to drive slowly around compost sites because you never know if someone is dumping brush or if someone is driving around a corner that you can’t see.
