Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader and 9th District State Senator Devin LeMahieu released a statement following Gov. Tony Evers lawsuit against the Wisconsin Legislature.
LeMahieu, who represents most of Manitowoc County says “The Governor is working to diminish the voice of Wisconsinites by limiting the authority of the legislature and unduly strengthening his own administration.
The Senate will continue to defend the constitutionally prescribed duties of the state legislature against the Governor’s frivolous attacks.”
Evers sued the legislature saying that they are obstructing basic government functions including not giving pay raises to University of Wisconsin employees.
The lawsuit also claims Republicans are stopping projects by the Department of Natural Resources.
