End-of-season awards were presented Sunday night to members of the Manitowoc Lincoln High School Football team.
Ships players receiving honors during a banquet held at Knox’s Silver Valley Bar & Banquet were Gavin Lettenberger, Team MVP, Benson Dickrell, Special Teams Player of the Year, Gavin Lettenberger, Best Defensive Player, Julian Bailey and Kenton Beasley shared the Offensive Player of the Year award, Quarterback Max Maigatter was voted Most Improved while Noah Blaser and Saul Enz shared Newcomer of the Year.
The coaching staff voted on 5 other awards including Don Davey Lineman of the Year to Lucian Meyer, along with memorial presentations in honor of Dave Dorak to Ayden Theel, another in memory of the late Randy Merza to Saul Enz, the John Dixon Memorial was given to Evan Vogt and the Erik Zimmerman award was presented to a pair of Shipbuilders, Max Maigatter and Evan Vogt.
Additionally, Damon Ryan was given a community impact award, and received a standing ovation for his 46 years of calling Ships Football and Basketball games.
Also receiving the award were Biff Hansen and Donna Franz.
