The Manitowoc police department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon.
According to a release from the Manitowoc Police Department, officers were called to the 2700 block of Viebahn Street at around 12:30 p.m. on a report of an individual who had been shot.
The yet unidentified suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
SWAT officers were stationed nearby, but it is not clear if they were utilized.
The victim was taken to a local hospital by Manitowoc Fire Rescue and the condition remains unknown.
The area was closed off the traffic while the investigation was conducted.
Manitowoc Police were assisted by the Two Rivers Police Department and the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department.
