There is less than a week left to fill out a survey for Progress Lakeshore, Manitowoc County’s economic development group.
Executive Director Jamie Zastrow tells Seehafer News that after undergoing a feasibility study, it found that Manitowoc has a lot of community support to grow a “tech economy” and the survey is a part of it.
The study will be used to figure out if a technology and innovation center, like a tech incubator, could be created and support the economy.
Zastrow explains what an incubator does.
“The concept really is where a business can start,” she explains. “You can start small without high overhead. There would be some programming that Progress Lakeshore and other organizations could provide to help develop that entrepreneur’s idea and support their business plan and things like that.”
After a start-up gets going, the business would eventually move out on its own. Zastrow says the group has seen a need for more economic development in the county.
The survey closes Wednesday, November 8th.
The survey can be found with a link at SeehaferNews.com but you do need a Gmail account to log in.
