The West River Lofts in Two Rivers will be built, but not as soon as was originally planned.
City Manager Greg Buckley asked the city council Monday (November 6th) to make some changes to the agreement between West River Lofts, LLC which replaced the first agreement created on June 5th.
Construction now won’t start until December 22nd of this year instead of the original December 1st groundbreaking.
It also adds language by adding “tax increment” being the difference between the base taxes and the total taxes.
The project won’t be finished until May 2025.
Buckley says the updated agreement clarifies what the city’s commitments are to the riverwalk area for development in the area.
The council did not vote unanimously.
Three council members voted no on the changes during Monday’s meeting.
The project will now cost about $17.3 million.
