
While three area high school football teams saw their seasons come to an end on Friday, there are two that will be battling for a gold ball this week in Madison.
In the Division 4 playoffs, #2 seed Luxemburg-Casco will be taking on #1 Lodi after the Spartans edged out Catholic Memorial 23-21, and the Blue Devils took care of Baldwin-Woodville 49-29.
In the Division 5 bracket, #3 Wrightstown beat out #5 St. Croix Falls 33-12, and will battle #1 Aquinas following their 58-14 win over Horicon/Hustiford.
However, in Division 7 Reedsville fell short and was defeated by Blackhawk/Warren 36-7, Kaukauna lost to Waunakee 24-14 in the Division 2 bracket, and Notre Dame fell to Rice Lake 30-15 in the Division 3 playoffs.
The Division 7 matchup will kick off championship weekend at Camp Randal Stadium on Thursday, followed by Divisions 6 through 4.
Divisions 3, 2, and 1 will also play on Friday, each day starting at 10:00 a.m.
