Two Manitowoc women are free on $1,500 recognizance bonds after they were caught trying to steal from The Meijer Store in Manitowoc.
53-year-old Keri A. Cavanaugh is charged with Felony Retail Theft, Felony Bail Jumping and Two Counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and 30-year-old Rebekah S. Gibson is facing a charge of Felony Bail Jumping.
Police were dispatched to the business on South Rapids Road Tuesday afternoon after an asset protection worker caught both women in the act.
They allegedly took a large amount of merchandise, placed it in two separate carts and in Cavanaugh’s purse.
The defendants then exited the store without paying for the merchandise which had a retail value of nearly $3,000 and were taken into custody without incident.
Conditions of bail are that they are not to have any contact with Meijer or its premises or with each other besides incidental as they live at the same address.
Initial court appearances are scheduled for December 4th at 1:30.
