It’s official. Pat Murphy, whose been the Brewers bench coach since 2016 and has four decades of coaching experience, has been named the 20th manager of The Milwaukee Brewers.
The announcement came late Wednesday morning from Brewers General Manager Matt Arnold who stated in a news release, “Pat has been a significant contributor in the run of recent seasons of unprecedented success in franchise history.
We are pleased to have Pat remain in the Brewers family and excited to name him manager today.”
Murphy signed a three-year contract of which terms were not disclosed.
He replaces Craig Counsell, who left after nine seasons to become the manager of The Chicago Cubs.
He’ll be introduced Thursday at an 11 a.m. press conference.
