Bail is set at $500 cash for a 24-year-old Manitowoc man who’s accused of breaking furniture and strangling someone over a period of weeks.
Elijah L. Canada is charged with Intimidation of a victim, Strangulation and Suffocation, Two Counts of Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct and Five Counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Police were called to a residence Monday afternoon to investigate a claim that someone was trashing their house and refusing to leave.
Canada then allegedly broke a bedframe and took things from a tv. stand before throwing it outside.
Canada had also allegedly choked the victim on a bed, punched a bedroom door when the victim tried to escape and threw a glass table.
As he was being taken into custody, he reportedly hit his head intentionally on the roadway and was taken to Holy Family Hospital for treatment before being booked into The Manitowoc County Jail.
The lone Condition of bail is that Canada have no” abusive or assaultive” contact with the victim.
He remains in The County Jail with an initial appearance set for November 27th at 1:30.
