Evergleams on Eighth has returned for another year.
The annual display of aluminum Christmas trees in storefronts in downtown Manitowoc businesses started on Wednesday (November 22nd).
Visitors and residents can walk downtown in the Clipper City to see the trees, take tours from a trolley or up close and personal tours, and you can learn about the history of the tradition through a lecture.
Tim Gadzinski with Manitowoc Public Library says this year’s history lecture is called Sparkle! The History of the Aluminum Christmas Tree will be Thursday, December 7th at the Manitowoc Public Library.
There will also be a day for aluminum tree enthusiasts to get their trees repaired. The event called Paging Dr. Evergreen will have Jordan Kabat available to make repairs and adjustments to trees.
You must make an appointment for the repairs and appointments can be made at the Manitowoc Public Libraries website.
That will be on Saturday, December 2nd.
You can find a link on the Visit Manitowoc website to know where the trees are being displayed this year.
The event started to recognize the manufacturing history of Manitowoc and the various phases there throughout the later half of the 20th century.
