Local dignitaries and leaders of the Appleton International Airport will be on hand today as ground is broken on a major expansion project.
This endeavor is said to be worth around $66 million and will more than double the size of the airport.
Not only will it allow for more nonstop flights to a wider array of locations, but workers will also add more gates, and bathrooms, and will build a beer garden for travelers.
The airport will be using a combination of state, federal, and regional grants to help fund the project, which is expected to take about two years to complete
