The Confluence Apartment Project in Two Rivers might take longer to start than expected.
Kip Golden with CR Structures told the City Council Monday (November 27th) that the project is starting to come together, but there still have been some issues with getting started.
He tells Seehafer News when the company was digging on site, they ran into some concrete from old buildings that used to be around the project.
“It’s not something we would want to open up in the middle of winter,” he explained. “We were hoping to start the project in December or January but now we would like to push it to for a start on May 1st which pushed our completion date back to the end of 2025 instead of May 2025.”
City Manager Greg Buckley says Golden asked if the city would allow for revisions in the agreement again.
“It’s frustrating that the project is taking a while,” Buckley expressed. “But he (Golden) certainly expressed a continued strong interest, and we know this group has got quite a bit of money invested in design and site analysis.”
The final project will be two buildings, one being a 71-unit apartment building with six stories and water views of the East Twin River.
The land the new building is going on top of is the former Eggers property which was purchased by the city.
