Gerald Clarence Augustine, 83, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
Jerry was born on August 30, 1940, in Manitowoc, son of the late Michael and Thelma (Radey) Augustine. He attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1959. On July 10, 1959, he married Patricia H. Radandt, Manitowoc.
Jerry was a regional truck driver for many years, driving for: Canada Dry, Dick Bros. Bakery, Conveyance and FAB Express. Jerry truly enjoyed being a semi-truck driver! Later he was employed at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, retiring in 2004 after over 20 years of service.
Jerry volunteered in many roles including Cub Scout Leader, First Lutheran Church Advent workshops and Sunday school programs, he assisted with many Manitowoc Garden Club, Rahr West Art Museum, and Hope House programs and events over the years.
Jerry was an avid home improvement guru, camper, boater, and fisherman. He was a lifelong Packer and Badger fan, but his favorite pastime was following Wisconsin high school basketball and football teams and watching the annual WIAA tournaments. He enjoyed many classic cars and trucks over the years. Jerry’s true passion was being a Father, Grandfather, and Uncle.
Gerald is survived by his Four children: Todd Augustine and Cheryl Kappelmann, Brenda Augustine, Aimee Augustine, and Christopher Augustine, all of Manitowoc. Two grandchildren: Todd Augustine Jr., and Hailey M. Augustine. Four sisters, one brother and two brothers-in-law: Joanne Herman, Manitowoc, Shirley Kopatz, Green Bay, Susan Augustine, Manitowoc, Linda (Jeff) Mott, Green Bay, Timothy Augustine, and Richard Miller Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law: Roy & Violet Radandt; wife: Patricia Augustine, son: Steven Augustine; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Gregory Augustine, Dale & Connie Augustine, Michael & Kay Augustine; one sister Rosmary Miller; two brothers-in-law: Eugene Kopatz and Richard Radandt.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Lakeshore Life Celebration Center, 3613 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00am. Jerry will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery next to his wife, Patricia, and Son Steven.
