Judy A. Kinzel, age 78, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
Judy was born on July 14, 1945 in Manitowoc to the late William E. and Mercedes (Boucher) Zahn. After graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963, she went on to attend UW Oshkosh. On February 15, 1969, Judy married Phil Kinzel at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Alverno. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, raising her house plants, and playing games – especially scrabble and cribbage. Judy was a skilled at playing the clarinet, and used that talent as a longtime member with the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Manitowoc Marine Band. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. Judy was a member of Melnik Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include Judy’s husband of 54 years, Phil; three children, Nathan (Beth) Kinzel, Jessica (Ken) Schneiter, and Andrea Kinzel; four grandchildren, Philip, Chloe, Ella, and Nathan; also other relatives and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Mercedes Zahn; and brother, William R. Zahn.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Melnik Presbyterian Church, 12320 Melnik Road, Whitelaw, WI 54247 (1/2 mile north of County Highway Y on Melnik Road). Rev. Warren Kraft will officiate with burial of Judy’s cremated remains to follow at Melnik Presbyterian Cemetery. A luncheon will then be held at Melnik Presbyterian Church hall.
