It was an interesting morning at L.B Clarke Middle School in Two Rivers. (December 14th).
An announcement on social media from Two Rivers Public Schools says students and staff had to evacuate after the smell of natural gas was detected in the building.
The Two Rivers Fire Department and Wisconsin Public Service were called to the school and quickly found a gas line that had been cut while a company was digging near the location of the school’s new gymnasium that’s being built.
The line was capped, and students were able to return to the building within thirty minutes.
The school district thanks WPS and the fire department for their assistance and for students and staff following evacuation procedures.
